What this covers
This policy describes what PcketBinder collects when you use the app at app.pcketbinder.com, why, and what control you have over it. PcketBinder is currently operated by an individual developer, not a registered company — "PcketBinder," "we," and "us" below all refer to that same operation.
What we collect
- Account info: the email address you sign in with (handled by Amazon Cognito, our authentication provider).
- Card data: photos you scan, and the details read from them or that you enter yourself — player, team, year, set, parallel, card number, serial number, grade, cost, estimated value, notes, and want-list entries.
- Usage data: basic scan-count and API-usage figures, used only to enforce daily limits and to keep the app running within its own budget for third-party lookups.
- Optional profile info: a display name and public/private setting, only if you turn on a public profile in Community; a contact email, only if you separately opt in to being contacted about Trade Match results.
We don't ask for or store payment information, government ID, or physical address.
How we use it
- To run the app: storing and organizing your binder, want list, and sold/traded history exactly as you'd expect a collection tracker to.
- AI card recognition: when you scan a card, the photo is sent to Anthropic's Claude models to read the player, set, and other details back to you for review. It is not used to train Anthropic's models on your data beyond what Anthropic's own API terms provide.
- Pricing and identification lookups: to show an estimated value or live listings, PcketBinder sends card-identifying details (not your personal info) to CardSight (sold-comp pricing), eBay's Browse API (active listings), and PSA's public cert-lookup API (grading cert numbers) — only the card details needed for each lookup, never your email or account identifiers.
- Keeping the app running: AWS (Cognito, DynamoDB, S3, Lambda, CloudFront) hosts the app and stores your data; we don't run our own servers.
We never sell your data to anyone.
eBay listings and affiliate links
The Want List's "Live eBay listings" feature shows real, active eBay listings for cards you're hunting, pulled from eBay's Browse API. Links to those listings may carry eBay Partner Network (Impact.com) tracking parameters in the URL — if you buy something after clicking through, PcketBinder may earn a commission from eBay at no extra cost to you. Clicking an eBay link takes you to eBay's own site, subject to eBay's own privacy policy and any cookies eBay or Impact.com set there; PcketBinder doesn't see or control what happens on eBay's side of that click.
Cookies and local storage
PcketBinder uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences like your chosen theme. It does not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers of its own. It does not use browser cookies for tracking purposes.
Sharing and visibility
Your collection is private by default. Card costs and estimated values are never shown to anyone but you, even on a shared or public binder. You control two separate, off-by-default settings: a public Community profile (so others can browse your binder and use Trade Match), and a contact email for Trade Match messages. Turning either off again is immediate and reversible.
Your controls
- Export your full collection as a CSV or backup file at any time from the gear menu.
- Turn your public profile or Trade Match contact email on or off at any time.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing support@pcketbinder.com.
Children's privacy
PcketBinder is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
